Help find a LS1 for a decent price please!!

Ok so all the salvage yards here are bogus, located one for 4500 complete, another yard had one for 2800 without a harness-ugh!!! tried a 5.3, cheapest was 1100 without trans, tried a few on ebay they all went for over 3500, may be able to get one with 110k on it for 2800 shipped kind of high from what I've heard. So please keep your eyes open for one I'd need to have it shipped to loveland, co 80538 i would really really appreciate it.
here's what I've planned so far, I bought the GMPP muscle car oil pan, bought the monte carlo fi fuel tank and sender, also have a fuel pump coming from acdelco, now I need a darn engine!

I think a guy near here has some 5.3 for $600 they did have high miles 80,000 plus. He had probably 10 or more last time I talked to him.

http://www.retrolsx.com/forums/ the actual founder is one of the old BRP workers, shaun, and he's got a few ls1/t56 combos for under 3k. Either that or start searching car-part.com

I searched car-part.com and found at least 10 6.0L within 50 miles for around $1,000, 5.3s even cheaper. With the LS1 you're paying for the "name" and an aluminum block imo.

ok finally got a 5.3 with 2wd auto trans, harness, ls1 intake, fuel rails, injectors and f-body accessories, gave up on the ls1 way too pricey for me, may do a cam in the 5.3 though

Try LS1Tech,i have gotten just about all of my LSX stuff off there,lots of people getting out and selling everything off too.

make an iron block ls1 out of the 5.3... im looking at an lq4 with 32,000 for 700 right now. the lq4/9 have to be the best starting points, alot better than a ls1 unless you need the sluminum block for a light car (rx7, 240sx, etc) then theres the LM7 also.
