I need to know before I get in to this IF I get 2 inch drop spindles, I know that the wheel bearings are diff. on a 78, can I just get new rotors and bearings from a later year and the 78 calipers etc will bolt on using the later rotors..Thanks

You are correct. You can just get new rotors and bearings from a later year and the 78 calipers etc will bolt on the dropped spindle using the later rotors. The only thing you may need to worry about is the wheel studs. Just make sure you have standard thread studs (should be stock on a 1978 gbody) and not metric thread studs (i think the change over was 1982, but I am not 100% sure).

Make sure the studs are all the same too on each hub... been down that road, don't miss it.
