Well, info and progress. I've got enough stuff and info from the many boards I've wondered to be able to be a little bit of a help, but first let me give you the info on what I've bought so far.

Engine: lq9 from 2003 Escalade, 38k miles w/ transmission for 1200
Swap Kit from BRP Motors: 479.00
Oil Pan for same: 250.00
Manifolds from LS1 Camaro: 50 bucks used (ebay)
Wiring harness rewired by wait4meperformance: 360 plus 30 shipping
F-Body alternator--139.00

Still need to get--Fuel line, fuel filter, 4.3 TBI tank from autozone, maybe driveshaft, and a/c lines, and gas pedal since this is a drive by wire setup.

Engine isn't put into the car yet, so I've been debating on swapping cam, bu tit also means valve springs and pushrods, and gaskets, so we'll see if I have the money. I'm also still debating on an electric fan for the car.

Talking to Jesse at the wait4 me performance website and he'll do the wiring harness and flash the puter, and any time theres an upgrade to the car, he'll redo for free except shipping seems like a pretty good deal

Now, what else to say before ending this, theres a great writeup here and on other pages:

http://www.ls1tech.com

http://www.montecarloss.com

http://www.brphotrods.com/

To find engines use the two above as well as http://www.performancetrucks.net and if you look on your local craigslist you can find the engines under vortec instead of ls1 ls2 ect. I will get pics of the stuff for now, and I'll be starting the actual swap when I get some money in a few weeks, but have to start somewhere eh?

Many questions, yes, answers yes, dissapointmetn right now, maybe

OK first off, the hood is alreay a 3" cowl hood, theres no innard liner, so i shouldn't have a problem there.

Second, I want to throw a larger cam, probably the ls6 cam, but they said i have to change pushrods and springs, so I found a cam and springs for 130 bucks, stock from a zo6, not bad.

Now, for disspaointment, meh, I hate dissapointment. I looked up the number on the heads, and it says 862, which are for a 4.8 or a 5.3 which means this may be getting nixed before it gets started, guess if you feel like its a good deal, it probably is too good a deal...we'll see on monday

If its an LQ9 it should have 317 heads. You can pick up a set for next to nothing. The only thing about the 862 is that they have a small cc chamber but they will bump your compression a bit. I dont know about the LS6 cam. Its a great cam for a 5.3 if its turbo'd. I dont know how it would do on a larger displacement N/A engine.

Found out today its NOT a 6.0 but instead a 4.8 w/ aluminum heads. I've contacted the man who sold it, and he's trying to fix it by getting a lq9 or lq4, or my money back....we'll see so progress will be updated

OK, so after all the stuff its done, he's going to give me the money back, and I'm going to start saving and buying things peice by peice...slowly you know? If a great deal "falls" into mylap, then great, but until then I'll be rocking the 350 for now, gotta find a way to get a little more umph outta it w/o nitro. I'll let ya'll know when I get ot where I can get another motor, and I'll still be active here to help out.
