How exactly did you come up with that? Like the specific formula out of curiosity. I thought I would be around .549 or exactly .550 cross multiplying lol.

You said you had 0.519 of valve lift with 1.5:1 rockers. Divide 0.519 by 1.5 and you have 0.346 lift at the cam lobe. Multiply 0.346 by 1.6 and you will have 0.5536 lift at the valve, which is too much for your heads. Yes, cross multiplying the 2 ratios would achieve the same result.
1.5/0.519=1.6/x

(1.6*0.519)/1.5=x = 0.5536

SR torquers are off now. My dad told me when he put this cam in back in about 2001 he had to some work done on these heads even but couldn’t remember exactly what.

If you see no signs of port matching on the outside, you my have to remove a valve to see if any blending was done or if the valve guide had been cut down to allow for a higher lift.

Yea I might give them a look over in a couple days. I was about to put my duramax on a lift to oil spray it before winter and it sprung a fuel leak so I just said the hell with it and bought all news ones. Hopefully I can do that next Friday or Saturday and get these heads buttoned up

Cleaned the block up along with all of the ARP head bolts and intake bolts. Laid the gaskets down and set the heads on. Ran 2 bolts in hand tight for now. I want to buy some the arp assembly lube to make sure I do this right

I could be wrong on this but I thought round thing was the sender for the dash? Only reason I even know that is because when I was taking the intake off I had to ask what all of that was for since it was getting in the way. I’ll have the assembly lube tomorrow and I’m hoping my brother will have a spare hour or so to watch over my shoulder while I torque the head bolts. I looked up the sequence and the afr instructions said to start out at 40 ft lbs and increase in incriminates of 10 ft lbs. I just need someone that’s done it before to keep an eye on me so I don’t screw something up. Honestly spending all the money on the parts is rough at first but the experience is pretty fun/interesting.

Ah, I see; you have both an analog and digital sender. The large round red one is for an analog gauge. The smaller one is an on/off switch for a light.

I hope your brother can find the time to watch over you. After that experience, you will be comfortable enough to do it on your own another time.
