Looking at a big block install in my 79 bu. I want to keep everything as factory as possible. I would like to have ac working later on, and I am planning on full length headers with no slip joints.
Is this a simple install and if not what will I be up against?
Can I use the stock stye small block motor mount?
Are there any other clearance issues?
Is there a stainless header offered for this application?
What's a 427 2 bolt main low horsepower passenger big block worth that needs going through?

If you stick with factory style valve covers & use a long style H2O pump, you can use an A6 compressor, 70-72 BBC compressor brackets & mounts that are readliy available from Chevelle resto companies. My '80 229 V6 used an A6 compressor from the factory, so I'm just going to reuse it. I also used a bracket & pulley kit from Burt Chevrolet that has crank & H2O pump pulleys, power steering & alternator mounts & hardware. They say most of the parts are from 90's late model truck. I don't have the invoice here at work, so I can't give you a part#.
