379 is stamped on the sides of the block near the freeze plugs its a complete running engine.

Those unfortunately aren't going to answer your question. On the passenger side, up in front of the head is a pad which is stamped with some letters and numbers. (V0508CWA for example) The last three will get you what you want to know. If, and it is a sketchy if, the original intake is still on it, the casting numbers (and date code) will help you in your quest. If (yeah I know, another if) you can get a valve cover off of it, the head casting number/date code may also assist.

The heads and intake have been changed out,the numbers on the front pad are VL021800 if that helps.THANKS

Is there another number on the front pad of the block that ends with a 3 letter suffix. I have a 350 block here, that has the number ending with TWZ. I assume, you already hit the NastyZ28 site with the engine codes. Other than that I am stumped. Maybe it is a crate motor with just a serial number on it.
