I have a set of Edelbrock RPM heads on my SBC 400 engine and I was changing the sparkplugs on them and when I got to the number 8 plug which I removed with no problem and when I try to insert the new plug in the head it is going in crooked not straight like it suppose to go,the plug will not even go in all the way,I have changed the plugs on these heads plenty of times without this problem can the threads be damaged and will the head have to be removed and be a machine shop job?THANKS

Dumb question, but has nabbed me a time or two - are you sure the spark plug washer hasn't come loose and wedged itself in the opening at an angle?
