So I'm using an ebay version of the LS swap plates and as I drop the engine and trans in my 79 wagon, the holes in the clam shells don't line up. I can get one bolt in, but the other is way off???? They are both about half a hole off, what am I dong wrong?? It's almost like the "throat" of the upper clam shell is not long enough. The next issue is the power steering pump hits the steering gear box, so would LS1 accessories work for this, and if so can i reuse the pump, alternator and water pump????? Any guidance would be greatly apprenticed.

I had the same problem with the transdapt plates. The thickness of the plates makes the spacing from one clamshell to the other too wide. Some swap plates make up this difference by moving the clamshell mount hole down.

What is not lining up, the mounts to the block or the mounts to the K member?

I had to drill some new holes in my K member. I am using the truck accessories, and the P/S pulley is VERY close to the steering gear. Close, but not touching. I also got a smaller P/S pulley.
