Suspension limiters

Can anyone tell me the advantages, disadvantages of front suspension limiters? My 84 cutlass 455 leaves wheels up 8-10" by limiting front suspension travel will I put upward energy to forward energy? I leave off foot brake 1500 rpm.

Yeah they only allow the vehicle to lifts so far. So the momentum of the car carries up and forward rather than just up.

Limit suspension too much and you'll have a tough time keeping the tires planted.
