Too bad no one has been brave enough to try a Series II 3800 into a G-Body. The Series II (for those that dont know) is the engine thats in most of GM's mid size family cars. Also in the V6 F-Bodies. There is someone that has put a supercharged 3800 (from a Pontiac Grand Prix GTP) into a early 80s Olds Cutlass. He has to do some firewall cutting and custom motor mounts but, ran 12s in the 1/4 mi. when all was said and done.
Maybe I'll be the first one one here to do the swap...who knows.

there was a recovered theft/totalled out 99 Camaro in the Albuquerque u pull it a while back, had a complete engine, five speed, wiring and brain, probably couldv'e been had for under $500 for everything engine trans wise. Interesting swap idea.

I've thought about it before, never really wanted to try it though. Last time I checked on 3800pro.com the fastest guy was in something like an '00 or '01 Bonneville SSEi running low 10s. There's a guy in the area around here (friend of someone I work with) with a s/c Impala that's in the 11s or 10s.

Did I hear that right? A 10 second quarter mile elapsed time with a fwd Impala using a supercharged V6??? I didn't even think that was even possible!

It may be turboed, I'm not sure. But the Bonneville I know is s/c. Checking the site again, there have been 4 Grand Prixs that've taken that Bonneville's place (all turbos), the fastest now at 9.011... holy crap...

Believe it! There are plenty of quick modded 3800 s/c's running around. Mega sleepers that can run 9-10 sec quarters. Not with radials though. Boost is an amazing thing!

Stroker 4.3 cranks are over a grand! Is it a welded stroker crank?
