Don't gotta worry about me crushing anything cool.
I did crush a '79 Olds Omega that someone beat all the glass out of. Then, last Monday, a '76 Olds '98' after I pulled the 455/TH400.
I have eight Malibus in the hoard right now. All thin pillar coupes. All bench seat automatic.
No kids, house is paid for in a less than desirable area of town. Most of these set in a lot next to my house, as I used to keep them in my dad's salvage yard, well, they kept missing more and more parts.
The list is:
1. 1980 Malibu, daily driver, came from ribbedroof, a member on this site (I think $1400 and I put a trans in it, then found the white cowl hood later) :
2. 1978 roller, Exhibit A, saved from the smasher, smasher price
3. 1981 roller, Exhibit B, same as above, smasher price
4. Next to Exhibit B, 1978 gutted by someone else to make a drag car, came with a cage kit not welded in, aluminum sheet work interior, roller maroon, picked up from street rod guy via local drag strip classifieds for $200, sorry no dedicated pics of it. Next to orange car.
5. Next to Exhibit A, I am calling it an '80 due to the grille, roller, stacked full of misc Malibu stuff, served as spares for a local Super-Pro drag car. Also from local drag strip classifieds for $200.
6. 1981 mostly there, 350 out of late 70's Blazer, the 200 Metric trans is out of it. I traded a 9mm pistol for it from an add on craigslist (around $300)
As I found it:
After some love with a bomb can and some 7 inch Ralleys:
7. 1979 Malibu, complete car, parked in a yard in need of a tune-up. I found it when taking a friend to buy an RPM intake on craigslist. I thought it needed other Malibu's to be 'with'
All unmolested, 305, 200 Metric. I could not make the engine run/start. Claret interior, 1/2 plastic has faded away, dent in the roof from recent limb damage/ice storm, $400 is what I gave for it.
8. 1978 (I think, can't remember the tail lights) roller I took in on trade for some Harley parts. Two tone red/maroon. Served as a bracket/street strip car. 90's F-body radiator and buckets, fake Centerlines, was to serve as a bracket car until Exhibit B arrived. Sorry, no dedicated pics of it yet. It also had collector back 3 inch exhaust. Supposed to have a 4.11 posi, I allowed $400 trade value.
9. I know, I said eight, but its not a Malibu, its a 1978 GMC Caballero. Non-air, 4 speed, 454...
This car was traded for the the deal on Exhibit A & B, only after it was stripped to roof and quarters. Had frame damage, would not hold and alignment...
Might resemble it from an ad I had on this site.
That is just the Malibus, have a'87 Regal with a 455/TH400. A '78 Skylark (Nova) with a 455 Buick/M21. An '83 Regal I just put a 350 Buick/TH350 into. And some muscle cars, mostly GM A-body stuff.
G-body stuff is not too expensive. I buy/sell/trade them...or gather them up some, wheels, or motor or pile of a project and ...
