    2.29 or 2.41 were the other 2 ratios. The 3-speed I pulled out of a junkyard Malibu was calibrated for 2.73.

    No problem, I'm just trying to find out if anyone has any hands-on or 2nd hand experience with the forces on those ears. We have a welder so making the brackets aren't that big of a deal, the biggest cost will probably be shortening whatever rear I would get, and mounts/brackets.

    Since hen's teeth are more common than a G-Body 8.5, and aftermarket housings are über expensive, I've wondered about attempting a 3-link mount attached to the upper ears of a donor rear, and using a panhard bar or watts link to keep it centered. Does anyone think there would be strength issues...
