just an update, i wired the other power source in with my tach's power source. everything works good except for the thermostat. The fan gets power when ignition is on, but the thermo is way off from what it should be, so i bypassed it for now. need to get a screw or adjustable thermostat controller....but for now it will just be on when car is on. Fan has its own small shroud and i put the stock fan shroud back in place. I know it is a cheap fan, but it pulls a lot of air, hopefully it won't burn out real fast. If so, atleast i have the wiring for a fan now lol. Thanks for the help guys.

just so everyone knows, i got my wiring kit from advance auto parts off the shelf for 25 bucks, came with everything i needed including the thermo (i think i put it in the wrong spot so it doesn't register right). all wiring is easy and came with fuse and relay, think it was worth the money, good deal.
