I have been running mine for over 10 years now and I have been abusing it ever since I got it. I have had both front tires off the ground with the stock rear. I have 3.73 gears and an Auburn Posi. I am running 439 hp and 437 tq. It runs consistantly at 12.0's and high 11.9's. I get around a 1.7-1.9 sixty running a 28x12.5x15 Mickey Thompson Street E.T's with it. I seem to be one of the lucky ones I guess. I say run it till it goes. Might not be to long with that bbc though.
My buddy has a SS monte with a 383 and he pulls the front tires off the ground about 10" for I would say a good 10'. It runs a 1.5 sixty and the 1/4 is 11.20's on motor. He foot brakes it and leaves hard. He has the same tires and set up in his rear end. He has been running the car like this for a good 3 years now and it still hits hard and hasn't broken a thing. I hope this helps shed some light on this little 7.5 that can take some abuse and be reliable to.
Then there is some people that seem to grenade this thing as soon as they drop a 350 in their car with a decent trans. I can never figure out how they do it but me and my buddy seem to be lucky I guess.
