i got some ?s i just got a 81 bu wagon and wanna lower it a 1 to 2 inches and wanted to know who makes the best lowering springs and what shocks do u use when u lower it. i plan on putin gnx rims on it make it handle good for a daily driver.
I'm using Hotchkis 1902 springs with Belltech 2" spindles on mine, used stock replacement shocks. Tires are 205/60/15 iirc.
Some have also just cut portions of a coil out of the original springs to lower it. If you do it to the rear just make sure the open portion is up, I've also read those who lowered their car used hose clamps to hold the springs in place when the car was lifted off the ground (considering it on mine).
That would be correct I wouldn't doubt the frame has some rot and it's sitting a hair lower due to body mount bushings sitting down in the frame, but it can't be more than ½" or so.
