Try unpluging different parts while spinning your driveshaft. If everything spins with the drive shaft your problem at the gauge cluster. If nothing spins its your transmission speed sender. Or where ever it stops spinning will be the problem
I tried running the cable with my drill in reverse, which made the cable unravel some. So I plan to get a new one. The one that's in there now has 2 or more feet sticking out under the hood. So I plan to get a shorter one.
