stall speed for 200r4

im getting ready to put a 200r4 in my 79 cutlass. what stall speed do i need i have a new 7.5 rear end with 3.42 gears ill be running a 255-60-15 on the rear and ill have a 330 hp ho-350 in it ,the engine was in my brothers nova and hes letting me use it in my olds to get it back on the road sooner .it will be used for a daily drive in good weather and i might take it to the drag strip from time to time.

I am running pretty much the same combo with a little more HP. Stock GN TC here with a 1900-2100 stall. Lockup is the key if you are cruising the car at all and a higher stall if you are spending more time at the track

I agree ^^^, a stock D5 converter from a GN/T-Type would work well

I recommend using torque converter part number 21-25L. This is our Street Master series 12" converter, and features an advertised stall speed rating of 2,500 RPM.
