In less it's on jack stands, I'd be a little nervous taking that picture at those speeds!!!!! What OD do you have?? Guessing .64 with that speedo...

Checked what it would be with the combo I want to run, .64 OD 3.5s and 26" tire, doing 5k at 172 MPH. There isn't enough open road to get it going that fast around here....
Also, what crossmember do I need to use?? I'd like to use one for dual exhaust from iceman or something similar....
If it's going to have any kind of decent cam, with 3.50 gears you're going to be running WAY below where that 454 will be happy at highway speeds. it's going to be luggin along. If you're going with the TKO I'd go deeper on the rear gearing.

And wherever you pull the most vacuum is where it'll get the most mileage... within a reasonable rpm.
Since I got the vette rally's I might go bigger on tires, so probly will go with more gear. The motors peak torque was around 2500, cruising at 70 was around 2k, and that was with 26" tires. I really want to run 295/50s, but I don't to spend money on new tires if they don't fit, so might go with 275s.

i have been runnin a 468bbc with a t56 from D&D for a while. dynoed over 400rwtq with it. runnning 3.08 with 245/60/15 tires
5th is .75 is 2000 @ 70mph
6th is .50 pretty much useless..
ran a stock oem replacement 11" clutch and 3000lb diaphram pp. car would step sideways when then secondarys opened.

Pretty much what I'm looking for. It's gonna be a quick car with the 454 with whatever transmission is in it. Want 4/5-speed for a change, every G-body I've had was always an auto. Tho I drive truck for a living, I it still like to bang gears, good stress releaver sometimes. But want to be able to drive it on the highway, and not get passed my gramma doing 55. So need an OD transmission, but still have enough gear to do 70, and drop the hammer without bouncing off the rev limiter...
