Still running. Turning 12.20s on street tires at 116mph.
Still trying to get my pics sorted out so I can get this thread back to the way it was.

I love beating this transmission.

I saw that a couple weeks ago... I want it, I want it, I want it, I want it, I want it, I want it, I want it.
But how much? I'm so lazy and don't like to pick up the phone to call them to ask just one question.

Cool :D I like it.

I did a little looking, had to do a double take because I know I hadn't seen this, or asked about it  $1400 for just the trans (likely just the RS400, probably +$700 for the RS600) is very tempting.

If you figure $1400 for the RS400, then add $900 to make it a 'PerfectFit' kit, makes you wonder if you could source some of the parts yourself (i.e. crossmember, driveshaft, etc... at least doing the driveshaft/clutch yourself) and come out paying quite a bit less.

It's a remade Mustang transmission. They've had those since early 2000's IIRC. Probably just updated the synchros, hardened some gears and made a different tailshaft to accept a mechanical speedo.

I'm not saying it's a bad thing. I'd love an overdrive for my car, Just saying that basic trans has been out for a few years and they repurposed it for use in older cars.

the same is true with the Tremecs of the early 90s. They were a Jeep replacement transmission that was eventually used in Mustangs. It was not for a few more years that the case was modified to work with GM cars and a different input shaft was made.
