the 64-67 12 bolt will need 5.5 b/s, and i bought summit rims all 4 for $400. So it can be done cheap, and you'll have a super strong rear too.

I dont want the knock offs. im set on true welds. now if i bought 15x10 with 4.5 backspace for my 7.5 rear now, then fit them on a 12 bolt that could possibly be an inch longer my rears wheels will just stick out wider then right? theres no real problem there.? but if i got 15x8 same type of rim, they wouldnt be out as far.? im assuming.

Also is it possibly to switch a rear that leaf spring to coil spring? or if you just welded on brackets for coil overs. that would work too, id think.

MACON, GA.
Leaf spring Rears don't have the UCA/UpperControlArm mounts on the center section.
64-67 A-Body = 60" WMS to WMS.
68-72 '''''''''''''''' = 61" """"" "" """""".
78-88 G-Body = 58" """"" "" """""".

Another Thread said 4.5" BS with 64-67 A-Body 12-Bolt.
5.5" BS with 68-72 A-Body 12-Bolt.

Should be 65-67, 64 didn't come with a 12-Bolt, 8.2" 10-Bolt only..

I have a 67 12 bolt from a chevelle with 15x8 rims and 5.5 backspace and they fit just perfect, no fender rolling or frame notch.
I've read guy's using the 68-72 12 bolt are using 6.5 backspace.

That's what im saying. but a 15x10 for you bowtie wouldnt work it would be outside the fender or too close to the frame. how big of a tire are you running on a 15x8 i was thinking more along the lines of a 15x10 with 4.5 B/S to fit my 7.5 gm rear. but im gonna pull some measurements soon, to figure out what i could run on my 7.5 but still be able to run on either a 12 bolt or a 8.5 rear. just to see what i could do.

Also Ive heard fender rolling so many times, and prolly looked it up once or twice but what exactly do you do to roll the fender and why would you do it? Not too sure of why you would have to do it.

Im gonna explain this i might be answering my own question, Don't know. but if i ran a tire/ rim combo that would bring my wheels to the edge of the fender. im gonna do heavier duty springs or/and air shocks to get the back end lifted up to fit em. Also i want that slope from the back to the front type of stance.

Rolling/trimming keeps the fender from possibly contacting and cutting the sidewall. I have aset of 17x9.5" tires with 275/40/17s and I'll be running about 4.75-4.875" backspacing (tire included). I seem to remember 5" or so to the frame (no notch) but I'd have to double check. I only hope I have enough clearance up in the wheel well. I'm also running the same wheel/tire up front, we're gonna see how that plays out with a lowered suspension and stock inner fenders

if i get 15x10 right now with 4.5 backspace it would with my 7.5 rear then if i switched to an 8.5 it would still work because the rears are the same width, correct? so by going on this idea what size tires would be good for it? what is my minimum size? and max? and minimum size tire for a 15x8? nd max?
