At yesterday's Pypes show, I bought a damaged 1964-1967 GTO console shifter bezel for $5 hoping I could make it work in my MCSS. It turns out that it fits rather well. It was large enough to just cover the original slot for the automatic shifter and narrow enough to expose the red tape. I had to remove 2 of the pins and relocate them. I have to enlarge at least 1 of the holes to orient it just right. I also shortened the skirt.

I can't decide to repaint the damaged silver as silver or as red.

that's cool.you won't see another one like that.have you thought about painting it some kind of black to make it disappear all together?even a flat or semi gloss would look slick.the red and silver would make it jump out.just my 2 cents

I swapped rears out of the '81, and it's now sitting on jackstands waiting for me to finish doing the seals & cleaning... got the pinion seal replaced so far.

i finished my plate for the gauges. its not perfect, but it was free (aside from the angle rings) and it works. i just need to install the temp sending unit in the transmission pan

i also hit 45,000 miles in the wagon when my sister, her friend and I took Dad to Browns Lobster Pound for Fathers day. mom would have loved to go, but shes allergic to shellfish.

i also located an 8.5" rear axle from a 56,000 mile GN for the wagon. going to pick it up on sunday. its 3.5 hrs away in vermont, so the GF is coming, and we'll spend the night camping in the Northern Kingdom
