Pulled the plugs on my 454's cam oil galleys to check to see if oil restrictors were installed. Thankfully, they weren't. My new Morel pressure lubed solid roller lifters need full oil, but I couldn't remember if we put restrictors in when we built the long block. It's only been 8 years...

The shaft and bearing change wasn't a huge difference but a good one. It now reacts a bit quicker to inputs with a smoother feel.
(The smoother feel could be the placebo effect of the bearing)
It looks a lot better and cleaned up the area well.

The poly core support bushings also weren't a big change.
I replaced the factory ones about three years ago with new rubber ones so they weren't that bad.
Now when the suspension reacts to steering input it's more of a direct feeling rather than the old "Would you like that today" feeling.
It's still not as good as I would like though. I've got too much slop in my steering box or some play in the suspension.

I'm thinking of finding a set of Delrin bushings for just the core support.
If anybody has that number don't hesitate to post it.
If I can't find those for just the core support I might opt for the Energy suspension 9.4101G bushings.
They are firmer yet than the 9.4102G that I just installed.

Drove my sbc Malibu in to a local shop to have my Jeg's mandrel bent 2 1/2" exhaust installed. Could've done it, but lying on the ground in 35 degree weather for hours installing it wasn't on my to-do list this time. 150 bucks for labor...not too bad. The ride there with open headers was interesting. Passed a cop, too and didn't get pulled over! Was amazed by that! And thankful #-o
