Been working on her all week getting her ready to drive. Finally got the speedo gears in and nitrous tank installed. Just have to wire the nitrous kit and thats done. Broke the header at the collector putting the exhast back up. thats all fixed now. Took it for a test drive last night. Needs some more timming work but she is getting there. I'll be going to work on her some more after i get out of work today.

Thursday night I switched out the rockers to summit roller tipped ones from my old 305 from back in the day. I have Harland Sharps but I had the wrong locks for them.

Then I went to the track again & with slightly better air & the roller tipped rockers being the difference i picked up .25 and 1mph! I was surprised!

lashed my valves, discovered my headers were less then tight..waiting for the smoke to clear to see if the tic is gone..ugh..

Nice. The only reason I never hopped up a 4.3 for mine was because of the header issue.

I'm probably the only guy to dyno a 229...

Had the beast dyno'd the other day at Absolute. Stock is rated 110/170 flywheel...dyno'd 107/153 at the wheels...not bad. The primary use of the dyno was to baseline the car before I made the headers. Since I may not have them done in time to hit the track prior to winter.
