Put the car away for the winter........getting ready to start the heart/lung transplant on it.

put a bbc in mine. still have to wire, plum my fuel system and exhaust

Put 350 back into car, drove 17 miles and bent a pushrod. Replaced pushrod drove 8 miles to town, came home and found new pushrod bent. Ended up pulling heads to send back to machine shop to have screw in studs installed. Now just waiting, again, for machine shop and deciding the future of a car i've owned for over 17 years.

X2. Sounds more like a valve-to-piston clearance or valvetrain geometry issue...

Installed the new UMI upper and lower a arms along with new Wilwood brakes and drop spindles. Went from 7 3/4 to 5 3/4 frame height. Just gotta finish setting the caster and camber and weigh it out to see how much weight I saved, hoping for 40-50 lbs.

They said the press in stud moved and allowed too much clearance. I looked at the head before it left and the top of the valve was rounded. The stud also had a groove worn into it where the rocker shifted sideways. They want to put the studs in and resurface the valve. All of this is at no cost to me, it's being taken care of by my buddy who built the engine.

Finished putting together and painting the 350 thats either going to be my interim engine while I save for the 383, or will be sold to be the financing for it.
