also installed new brake master cylinder and booster.. went from 7/8 to 1.417" bore.. brakes are deffinetly more repsonsive! neeed a booster becasue the boss on the m/c is bigger the the 79s due to the bigger bore..

UPDATE #3 WENT OUT SUNDAY AFTERNOON AND DID PASSENGER SIDE WAS MUCH EASIER
WITH THE SAWZ ALL AND TRICKS LEARNED FROM LEFT SIDE, WENT QUICK COMPARED TO LEFT
IF YOU DID YOUR FRONT END AND NOT THE REAR YOU WONT BELIEVE THE DIFFERENCE
NO MORE SIDEWAYS IN 2ND ALTHOUGH FUN DOES NOT PRODUCE QUICK E.T.
IT IS HOWEVER NOISY YOU, FEEL ALL BUMPS AND SUCH
IF I HAD TO DO OVER- WOULD I DO THIS AGAIN??
YOU BET THE DIFFERENCE IS WORTH THE TRADE OFF IN LIL ROAD NOISE

remember you have to swap intakes too for the vortec head swap

Not only that, I have to use the only EGR-equipped one, which is available from GM at $300 a pop new. I found one on CL listed for about $150 though.

Productive last few days...finally got my interior all back together..new carpet, made floor shifter brackets and trans brackets to mount it all...got my console in and made it all look pretty...Today I installed my Iceman crossmember and removed my old 2.5" exhaust to make room for my new pypes 3"...but no one local carries 3.5"-3" header collector reducers..so ordered some from summit...but in the mean time I did a quick pass threw the neighborhood with open headers...lets just say the neighbors did not like it...but I was grinning ear to ear like a kid on christmas...pictures coming soon.

bolted up the trans mount and cross member and put drives shaft on...also the starter, distributor and carb linkage...a few more things and it will be running.

I adjusted the valves on my 87 Silver Turbo Regal.


I also took a closer look at the 86 Grand Natioinal I just aquired. I now have 3 Grand National's (two 87's and one 86) and a 87 Turbo T. :mrgreen:
