If you're open to the idea of changing your rear brakes then another solution is to install Ford 9" housing ends on your axle tubes and avoid using c-clip eliminators all together. You then simply order your axles with Ford axle bearings and retainer plates installed. Perfect excuse to upgrade to rear disc brakes.
I have a customer that's been mid-1.20's 60-foot and high 8.40's/low 8.50's with an 8.5, 33-spline axles, Ford housing ends, spool, 3.73 gear, T/A cover, welded axle tubes, 275 radial, 3,400 pound Nova, mild 540, single fogger, 1.80 'glide. Rear end has been together for 5 - 6 years with no issues.
