    Beginners Guide to TIG Welding

I had an inkling :D I looked at the guide on the Miller site, I'll give Lincoln's site a look too.

    Beginners Guide to TIG Welding

This is awesome, I've never read it, but I'm starting to even though I know squat about welding to start with. When are you doing one on MIG welding? :D Also... all these years I've never been able to figure out what your avatar is... what is it?!?!

GM techs (or anyone else that may know) - 4wd t-case ?

I guess another thing to ask is how many of you have even heard of this? It's not like he's abusing the truck, and it sees mainly highway miles (Flint to Pontiac, MI). Checked on fullsizechevy.com and one of the guys (not many replies :() said he has 255k on his 2000 and hasn't had this problem.

GM techs (or anyone else that may know) - 4wd t-case ?

Well getting a new truck isn't really in the cards. He just paid this one off and plans on keeping it. He does regular maintenance on it, takes good care of his cars (had an '85 S10 he bought new and the only thing he had to replace in the 20 or so years he had it was trans valvebody @ 17k...

GM techs (or anyone else that may know) - 4wd t-case ?

So here's the story, it's on my dad's '03 Sierra (½-ton, pushbutton 4wd, 4L60E). Around 100,000 I believe (it was out of warranty, I remember that much) he had to have the transfer case replaced because the drive chain was rubbing on the inside of the case... $1,400. Fast-forward about 3...

New Products! Front A-arm kit and front sway bar

I don't really have one currently, but I'm planning on a set of 17x9 wheels for the front, and I'm trying to make room everywhere I can.

    Decisions, decisions...

Did you see the FAST/Retrotek thread? I'm not even sure it's worth considering since you have all the wiring already done, but for someone like me I'd be game, 'cause I don't even have an LS motor (yet) :D

Retrofitting aftermarket wiring harness (and other ideas)...

Re: Retrofitting aftermarket wiring harness... Uh-oh, just had another idea... It probably wouldn't give much benefit, but I'm thinking of having some sort of shield made for the gas tank & it could be made part of that. Have you ever seen the air splitters on GT race cars (helps with high...

    Turbo on a TBI 4.3

Yep, and there's also DynamicEFI, which I'd probably go with instead, it reuses part the factory ECM, but allows a flashable chip, and many of the features that the MS has. True that I'm no nub, but at the same time programming is NOT one of my strong points. I get really basic code, but when...

    Turbo on a TBI 4.3

FullSizeChevy.com is currently going through updates so I'll post it here... has it ever crossed anyone's mind? I'm going to want more performance out of the 4.3 in my Sierra one day, and I'm unsure if I'll want to just go with a mild Vortec'd 350 or get a turbocharger setup built for the...

    4.3 engine info

One of the S-Series truck guys posted this many years ago, a wealth of info on the 4.3 :) http://forums.s-series.org/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=41520

Retrofitting aftermarket wiring harness (and other ideas)...

Re: Retrofitting aftermarket wiring harness... I've seen Regals done like you mention. Personally I don't know if I would go with HIDs though, I haven't seen any that have the proper focus (without heavy modification) and won't blind oncoming drivers. Plus, $40 is less than 10% of the cost of...

How much did you spend on your LS swap?

I'd be down for attacking the harness, especially if it doesn't affect the price of the motor too much (or was just plain included with the motor). Worst case scenario I could still have it done in the end if I feel in over my head 8)

Retrofitting aftermarket wiring harness (and other ideas)...

Re: Retrofitting aftermarket wiring harness... I meant to mention the other idea I had... removing the front center marker lights for intake ductwork... I don't have easy access to a Malibu right now to check, but I think it's doable. Some black mesh to block larger objects & prevent small...

    Dead Short

Did you try unplugging the blower motor? Wires grounding is never a good thing, quickest way to a fire if there is no fuse/fusible link considering the amperage capability of the battery.

How much did you spend on your LS swap?

Just looking at roundabout prices here, maybe a quick rundown of the parts you've used (carb? EFI? headers? mounts? parts for a specific trans setup?). I won't be doing one for a while I figure, and I thought it'd be nice to get some numbers from the guys that've done it so far.

    388bu's LQ4 swap thread - Its alive!

I came back to read through :D I actually have a question too :P You first said you moved the motor back 1¼", but then went to about ¾". It says in this pic the mounts moved it back the 1¼", what did you do to gain ½" back?

what is a best used gear ratio for a daliy driver

    I'd say a 3.08 with a TH350. The cam isn't too big if it's that HE 268 in your sig, and a 3.08 won't put you at too high of an rpm on the expressway (26" tall tire with 3.08s will be around 2800rpm @ 70mph, 2200rpm @ 55mph). Agreed. Personally I'd go with a 2004R, 1st to 2nd gear isn't as...
