    Efficient & good sounding exhaust?

Though people don't actually find it synonymous with the name, Flowmaster does have quiet mufflers. I had one on my truck a few years ago, didn't sound any louder than stock (slightly deeper, but still sounded pretty much stock), and I was running a cat as well.

    14"-15" tire question

You are correct on the sidewall, but I don't have any racing experience to tell you about performance. They would expand slightly more at speed because of more available rubber, but I don't know much else on the matter.

    hydroboost

I can't give a ton of info because I wouldn't mind knowing what all is involved myself, but basically instead of having a vacuum booster for your brakes, your assistance comes from the power steering pump. Diesel trucks also use it, and the medium duty truck I drove many years ago (early '90s...

    4.8L truck engine ?

Sorry, I seem to have missed this post lately. I searched for any 3/4 ton full size truck (listed as Sierra or Silverado 1999 and up in the model field) later than '00 for a regular 6.0. If you want to spend a little more money (probably not totally worth it unless you want to just bolt in a...

    98 s10 brakes - yes yes?

You should be alright. You could also get a Monte SS or even an S10 Xtreme box IIRC. Those are quick ratio, and so are some F-Body boxes.

    98 s10 brakes - yes yes?

There's info on the turbobuick.com forum for the C5 Vette brakes swap. It's pricey though, somethin' I'd stay away from just because of the price of servicing

    Tremec TKO 600

Probably wouldn't hurt ;) Are you still using the original style mech. linkage, or have you gone with those Speed Direct parts?

    EFI or HEI LS1

I'm guessing somebody is and there's at least a little demand, otherwise they wouldn't have these covers. It might be a step backward, but it's also less electronics to wire up for someone who doesn't want to run the control box/coils. Plus, it has provision for a mechanical pump.

Get in touch with Craig (388bu), he's done the swap and could probably point you in the right direction.

Interesting, I didn't know people were running distributors on the LS motors

    EFI or HEI LS1

I'm a little confused... is this just a general question? It's in the LSx area  IMO I'd also stick with at least heat if I'm making a driver out of a car. A/C makes the defrost more effective though because it helps pull moisture out of the air and dries the windshield faster.

    Anti-theft: the Ravelco

http://www.gmhightechperformance.com/tech/0609htp_anti_theft_system/index.html Looks like a good investment, I like their thinking! The same reason I would put redundant security measures in any vehicle I own, but in one convenient package :) Cliffs notes: -Passive -A uniquely pinned plug...

    98 s10 brakes - yes yes?

I think checking by hand would probably be the only reasonable method with a junkyard part. Just making sure they move smoothly, don't make any noise, don't have a lot/any play, etc. If I get the whole setup, I may take a dial caliper with me to check the thickness of the rotor before I buy...

    98 s10 brakes - yes yes?

Those spindles are different from everything I've seen, the bearing hub bolts to the spindle. $120??? Holy cow! Get it! If the bearings are good you're way ahead  They're like $200+ new. What I may do is just get a good pair of hubs from the junkyard, and buy a set of 2" drop...

    98 s10 brakes - yes yes?

That's my understanding, I'm planning on doing it. dwkohout's Cardomain page has pics, at least of the rear. But the turbo Buick forums have good info on this, along with F-Body/C5 setups. I think a C5 setup would be sweet (partially for the 'I have Vette brakes' cool factor), but the Blazer...

SSR 5.3 = Aluminum if I remember right. The car craft article I read used an 'SSR' 5.3 engine, and they said it was aluminum. I'll look for it later tonight after I get home.
