8.5" S-10 rearend?

I think 2wd's are narrower, but the 4wd I believe are the same width if not close. The early Bronco axles was a popular swap on them when doing an SAS.

But, since there is no upper control arm mounts, wouldn't work inless you plan on going 4 link or ladder bar setup.

It's not an issue if you're going with an aftermarket 4-link/panhard, etc. setup since you'll be welding brackets on. They came under ZR2 S10s/Blazers I'm pretty sure. You'd be better off with a late model B-Body 8.5 because it already has upper/lower arm mounts, and either use heims or modify the rear upper arm mounts on the frame for the B-Body uppers, they're at a different angle if I remember right.

I guess you learn something new every day. I had no idea they ever put an 8.5" under any S10. Looked it up just to be sure it wasn't some rumor that has spread across the internet and, sure enough, they did.
