Rearend not turning freely

I just installed a 12 bolt a body rearend in my malibu its equipped with a spool. Is it normal to have resistance when I spin a tire. It seems like it spins about half a turn and then you have to put some effort into turning it. It seems like its one spot that has resistance. Thanks

It may be the brakes causing it if the B-drums are still on it.

mine does the same thing, and its all fine had the cover off and inspected. no worries

If not dragging brakes it could also be a u-joint, assuming it is still attached.

The sharper the angle of the joint, rear hanging vs at ride height, the more you will feel it. That's normal.

It would take a minute or 2 to pop the straps off at the yoke and double check.

This would also eliminate anything you might be feel from the trans.
