Did you let Keisler know about the new noise?

No I have not said anything. It may need a little more breaking in, who knows. I have had it down the track without incident. And it only does it if you are really low in the RPMs and under really light load. If I am beating it then it does not make any noise at all.
Low RPM = 1200 or less.

Spent some time working on the Bu and decided to pull the cross member. It was cracked in 2 places. I guess the 454 really put a beat down on it.
I called Keisler and let them know. They would have replaced it... but to what end? Another crack later this year?
I took it to my local welder. He will think of something to reinforce it. I am no longer interested in the powder coated nice looking peice Keisler sent me. I need it strong. So it may become ugly... but I dont care.

I did call. I sent the pic. They know me well.
There could be a few arguements concerning the crossmember and its strength. I put it into something it was not designed to fit into. I have to use blocks of steel to raise it up to get the driveline angle I want and that does not offer the best foundation for the ends/pads to sit proper on the frame.
I am not too worried about it. I have endless patience for the car. The more I modify it, the more its me. So I cracked the xmember. I learned something new and will learn more after a solution is accomplished.
Ill get pics of the solution.

You've got a great attitude, Meat! The little runaround I went through with Keisler over getting their "G-body hydraulic clutch conversion kit" right was enough to keep me from ever using their stuff again. I ended up sending the master back twice & still got the wrong application. Not to mention the "hard" parts were all McLeod products that I can get cheaper someplace else.

Cost me $30 to have it reinforced. The time saved by not boxing the xmember and then getting it to Fed Ex... much better then waiting on Keisler and worth the money. I just dont have the time. I am moving to Augusta Ga in a week.
Took the car out for a spin, there is NO bounce any longer. The xmember is rigid. I dont have to worry about the driveshaft hitting the loop either.
I think I am going to go to the track for one last HURRAH on Sunday if weather permits.
