    LQ4 with LS6 intake

Get the car one. The truck one won't fit unless you try and hack something up. Seeing as you need one anyways get one for an 023' Z06. For the other sensors it depends on what harness you are using. I looked up the sensors for an 02' Silverado with a 5.3 vs an 02' Camaro with a 5.7, and both...

    LQ4 with LS6 intake

The TPS and IAC won't be affected. You will need to use the LS6 MAP sensor though. The car and truck sensors have the same connector.

lq4 teardown - how far to go

Don't touch the bearings. I would put a set of rod bolts in from ARP or Katech for insurance. Also an LS6 oil pump and LS2 timing set. That's just what I did you do whatever your budget allows.

NEW Project 1978 Malibu LQ9/4L65 Swap 4-28-11 Running Again

Re: NEW Project 1978 Malibu LQ9/4L65 Swap 4-28-11 Running Ag That really sucks to hear, hopefully it's back on the road soon. What oil pan is that? I was told the CTS-V pan fits really well with the BRP mounts, and yeah it doesn't.

    Dye paint

SEM also makes Shadow Blue. But that may be a little too dark for your interior if you are going with stock colors. I don't think that color was around in 79. SEM's interior spray dye is the best thing I've done to my car hands down. A couple spots chipped due to the door closing on it and...

Re: NEW Project 1978 Malibu LQ9/4L65 Swap 09-20-2010 update Hey Ralph, any pictures of your car with the 1-7/8's on? I got my crossmember in today and ran outside to bolt it up. Was so releived it worked! Unfortunately the F-body headers don't take kindly to the BRP mounts....

    Which one would you pick?

Those are 3rd Gen Camaro wheels How about S10 drop spindles? They can be had cheap and they don't alter your shock selection.

What mounts are you using? With the BRP mounts that lift the engine up: Driver side Passenger side

    LS malibu wagon

Do wagons and El Caminos use the same fuel tank? I never really thought about wagons never having an EFI tank :(

    Lsx cst-v oil; pan

What engine mounts? I'll go snap a couple pics of the CTS-V pan using BRP mounts On second thought, when the engine comes back out of the car I'll put some pictures up. You can't get the CTS pan in without pulling the trans back or the engine off the mounts.

NEW Project 1978 Malibu LQ9/4L65 Swap 4-28-11 Running Again

Re: NEW Project 1978 Malibu LQ9/4L65 Swap 09-20-2010 update Cool, I'm hoping that the CNC LS6 heads and LT headers and 3600 stall make up for the compression lost being an LQ4. Question on your trans crossmember, with the BRP mounts, did the Iceman crossmember fit no problems? I'm installing...

NEW Project 1978 Malibu LQ9/4L65 Swap 4-28-11 Running Again

Re: NEW Project 1978 Malibu LQ9/4L65 Swap 09-20-2010 update Ralph what all was done to the car when you dipped into the 11's? Ours is somewhat similar, mine is a stock LQ4 shortblock, Katech rod bolts, ARP head bolts, TSP CNC 243's, TR224 112LSA cam, 1-7/8 LT's, 3.73 gear w/ Trutrac. I was...

    pcm mounting

Anyone put it where the horn is at and then run the harness through the backside of it? I think I may try and mock it up to see if it'll be alright without cutting up the inner fender

What parts are needed to un-convert a 6.0L from carb to EFI?

Re: What parts are needed to un-convert a 6.0L from carb to Before I picked up my 6.0, there was a guy up north somewhere selling shortblock cores for $300 a piece. Whatever you wanted, 6.0, 5.3, LS2, LS1. We exchanged emails a couple times. Don't see his ads on craigslist anymore sadly :(...

    Power steering line

Cool thanks for the pics and info. Will braided nylon -6AN be alright for the pressure side of the system? I'd like to make it just the way I want inside the car without a big loop up top.
