don't give up quite yet,you can stand the rear on the axle with the bolt hole facing down
and just tap the carrier a little bit and maybe the bolt end will fall out. if not you could also try a tiny bit of epoxy on a coat hanger or brazing rod,let the epoxy set and pull out the broken piece that way.(use 5 min. epoxy from home depot or auto zone)
