Interesting pic. Tore the fork up a little bit. If you notice in the pic of the T/O bearing on the left you will see the depth I have that the spacers provide. I should not have a problem. This is the bearing that comes with the McLeod Street Twin setup. On the right was a really nice Center Force DF setup that I burned up pretty good. I still have the T/O bearing for that and mocked it up and it was fine as well. Thanks for the caution.

So I go ahead and pull everything out and inspect the clutch and look at my old parts and wish them well in whatever life they will be going to. I crawl back under the car and drag the NEW BELLHOUSING with me. It looks a little funny so I want to test fit this shiny thing.
I get under and slide it on... everything looks real nice. Lines up real pretty with the dowls and I go ahead and put 2 bolts in to hold it in place to check clearances. HMMMMmmmm, I cant seem to get it to sit perfectly flush on the block. Why?

BECAUSE IT DOES NOT 'E'FFING FIT!!!! The clutch is too big? WTF???? Patience is wearing VERY thin at the moment. Its the correct bell for my application. What in the he!! am I doing wrong?

In the side-by-side pic, you can see the Quicktime bellhousing tapers in much sooner than the GM bellhousing. I wonder if you would benefit from the 6022 bellhousing instead of the 6021?

It is hard to tell from the 3D renderings on the Quicktime website, but the 6022 has to be larger to fit the larger flywheel.

The taper of the bell is precisely why I posted the pic. I wanted another set of eyeballs looking at what I see to verify I am not INSANE!!
I even called Forte last week and asked this question 'JUST IN CASE' , no, no it is what you "need" !! I have since gone to the website and looked at thier parts and the 3-D whirly pic.
The clutch is no thicker then any other run of the mill off the shelf clutch. I have a pic on page 26 comparing it to my old CF DF.... same size.
I am pretty sure I could see the clutch scraping the inside of the bell. I could rock it back and forth, only one side would seat flush.
I am pissed. More money in shipping back and forth, more time wasted and more money to get the correct part. I dont have any more money.

I called Fortes Parts, no one home on the holiday. Dont blame them.
Called Quick Time Inc, they are the makers of the bell. They were very helpful. Willing to exchange the bell or send me a spacer. I opted for the spacer as the Forte bell is modified in that it has the slave attachment welded on. Quick time was willing to do a one for one exchange to the larger bell to accomodate the 168T flywheel AND weld the bracket on but then again, I would have to start shelling out money for shipping and then wait for them to make the part. Quick Time is sending me the part for free. They were very suprised I could not get it to fit, They stated that the bell should be able to fit a DUAL DISK setup.... which I mentioned I had.
In the meantime, if the part gets here and I am not satisfied, the option for the larger bell is still on the table. Its also SFI certified. No charge.
I like Quick Time Inc.

not to be nit picky.... but are you guys talking about the same dual disk???/

i always thought though bells in general were meant for the 5.5" or 7" dual disks... in which it would all fit together...

Not to jump in and interrupt the rythm of this incredibly informitive discussion, but has anyone had any experience with the Icemember? Especially with the TKO-600? How does it fit? Any flex?...etc...

I opted for the spacer...
They seemed quick to volunteer a spacer. I wonder if they have had the issue with other customers? It appears the spacer is already machined?

Do you know how thick the spacer is? How will the spacer affect the penetration of the input pilot into the bearing? and the location of your transmission mount?

I am on the edge of my seat!
