Spacer is 3/8" thick. I am thinking that I only need .015 min for clearance of clutch to bell. Its going to be really tight. Ill crawl under later tonight and do an 'eyeball' estimate.

I am not sure what 5.5 or 7" reference is too. Where is that measurement taken?

I dont have any knowledge about how an Icemember might work/fit. But from what I have read about his products I bet it would be excellent.

Quick Time actually offered the larger bellhousing first. I asked if that was my only option. Once the spacer was put out as an alternative and I accepted, then the larger bell was again put out if I was not satisfied. Who knows, maybe the clearance will be too tight.

I opted for the spacer...
Do you know how thick the spacer is? How will the spacer affect the penetration of the input pilot into the bearing? and the location of your transmission mount?

That is an excellent question. You may want to take some careful measurements to make sure the input shat sits in the pilot bushing enough.

This is something I did just recently to make sure my old bell depth was kosher with the 6.0.

5.5/7" clutches are usually used in road racing etc...

they are really small and would fit in there no problem... maybe that's that they're thinking of..

not a full size 10.4" or 11"

The website has a list of the applications per the part number. Mine is for a 10.5" clutch with 153T. They even said that my bell should do fine with a dual disk 10.5. But looking at it I can see the argument, it gets narrow real fast.

I didnt get to look at anything tonight. I will tomorrow.

I have spent the last 22 years in the US Marines. I am used to getting what I want. But when it comes to dealing with civilians, communications either break down or my words fall on deaf ears. I hate that.

388Bu: I have looked at your website and gleaned great info from you. Thank you. One thing I recall that was pretty specific was your choice on Master Cylinder, McLeod 139001. I asked for this part and received the STOCK version. I am warn down,t ired and dont feel like dealing with this sometimes. The only part I got that wasnt f ucked up was the clutch pedal. The stock m/c looks like a piece of c r a p. It cant be adjusted and the fastener for the hose looks like it may leak. For the price I payed I should have at the very least got a resevoir with it and a little peice of hose too.

Glad you found some good info in my write-up. Hang in there Jeff, you'll get it right and once it drives right it'll be all worth the B.S.

For what its worth, you can try out the stock M/C and at least get it mocked up. If you decide it just wont cut it, then swapping out the M/C isnt too big of a deal. The worst part is probably bleeding the system...at least for me it was.

Did you receive the fitting that goes in the end of the M/C and converts to a -4 AN?

Yes, the braided line did have a -4 AN fitting for the slave. I am much calmer now. I will see how it works out.
