don't forget to put a positive stop on your pedal now that you're running a hyd. t/o bearing

Already had one installed. The Bdzel pedal uses a bolt to secure the input to the M/C, I left the bolt out abut 1/2 inch and it hits the pedal assembly and keeps it from bottoming out.
Once I take the measurements for Keisler, they are looking for 1.4" of input to the m/c. So I may or may not need the stop.

Here is the Hyd t/o bearing installed. Installation was very easy provided you follow directions, which I did not. So I had to take it back apart after I put it together to get it right. I would be a great carpenter... measure once cut three or four times?
So after I had it together I was inspecting the old bearing retainer and out dropped a shim. WOW, no wonder the input shaft had all kinds of play in it after I put it together the first time. With both shims inserted and following directions its much better.

I think my favorite part is going to be pulling the bellhousing off and assembling the transmission and bell then installing it as one piece. If you dont do it that way then you would never be able to get the hydraulic line installed. I am all about trying things in an unconventional way. I think when this is over I am going to pull the engine and see if I can put it in from under the car.

Very nice parts. I did not realize you would have to replace the front bearing retainer. Do all brands mount that way? What brand is the one you got from Keislers?

Today I spent a few minutes looking at hyd t/o bearings on the web. This one looks nothing like any of them. I think Keisler made this themselves. The McLeod peice looks pretty stout. There is also another brand out there, looks good too. This Keisler piece, the base is milled aluminum, and when its not connected to the bearing, the bearing is very very light weight. Similar bearing to the CF DF throwout in that it is self centering. Not sure what to think of the green bellows, I hope that it is not the medium that holds the hydraulic fluid and its just a cover. Keisler claims 300,000 miles of longevity.
Ill be happy if my car can get 20K miles. If there was anything cast into the bearing, it was milled off.

Talked to Keisler today.
The Hyd t/o bearing comes from a Ford Explorer or F-150 as an OEM part then modified to Keislers specs. The green bellows are nothng more then a dust cover.
I cancelled my trip to Florida and will resume working on the car after I go on my first ever hunting trip. I am going to kill Bambi. And maybe her father. Or mother.
I will take any relative.
