It kills me how many mistakes and "ha ha fooled ya" items there are in these articles. The wrong bellhousing is shown. Then there is a scattershield. First the exhaust is a y-pipe, then it is headers and an X pipe. They speak about removing a grommet to reveal the factory drilled hole, which will not be there unless the car had cruise control.

The article says that Keisler makes a clutch pedal to work with the F body master cylinder. I don't know anyone who has that clutch pedal. I would have liked to see how it compares to John Bzdel pedal.

Easy stuff...
Get a GM TKO, furthest shifter back.
Make a hole in the floor.
Get a G-Body bellhousing/pedals/mech. linkage/etc.
Make the crossmember fit.
Make the driveshaft fit.
Done

I'm sure it's not as difficult as it seems, at least in my mind. Having the bellhousing indexed of course like they say, but besides that it's not extremely complicated, just measure 10 times and cut once. If you want a factory look sure, it'll probably cost more.

I'll flip through my magazines to try & find the date of the article later on... busy gettin' ready to throw a lan party right now :p

ya, I mean it can be done rather simply... but the aftermarket could chime in anytime and help us all out since two of the key components are just not even considered to be remanufactured... and really? $500 for just a linkage setup!?

Thats the kit I bought. It was supposed to be a complete drop in deal. I had to make a few modifications to make it work.

As far as where I am at right now, the transmission is sitting under the car on the ground. The motor is pulled. I have 7 pistons back in just need to get the last one pressed on and drop it in, then the shortblock is basically complete. Heads came back from the machine shop refreshed. I should be back on the road in 2 months? I am going slow.

Thats pretty interesting. I wonder if Keisler knows or if this guy bought it a while ago and is getting rid of it. If only it was as easy as just dropping it in for a direct fit. I am happy with the way mine turned out though.

UPDATE: I am still trying to get the motor/things to fit correctly. The engine is back in the car but I am trying to fit the Hooker 2455 headers in. And with a full length header it will be interesting to see how the hydraulic lines fit next to the collector. The new hydraulic throwout bearing has a rigid line and I have hung the driver side header and it looks like its right where the line was ran before with the shortys. Going to be close.

What do you do on a Satruday night when bored? You index the bellhousing of course.
The bell rides a little high on the block. Tremec calls for .005 max. I am calculating .0055 total. I dont think I am going to worry about the numbers I have. Did I even do it right? I am satisfied, I guess thats all that matters.
