OK. I made 5 passes. Only the 5th pass was worth a crap as the first 4 I drove the car like a little b!tch.

Next time out I am going to leave the line at greater then 2800 RPM. I may even try something in the 4K range.

The rear end has the tubular non adjustable UMI uppers and lowers. The pinion angle is -3 . New trick springs, and relocation brackets. Tires are ET Streets. The car pulled the tires 6" so traction is good. transmission felt very good.

1st pass I did pull the shifter back so hard I could not find 2nd.. I was a little rusty. After that no problems. My 1-2 shift is my slowest. 3 to 4 is very fast... synchros cant keep up.

The TREMEC TKO 600 is great. If you dont have one, you should ask yourself 'why?'.

I came across a TKO 500 on Craigslist recently for $8xx. After a few e-mails I found out it was for a Ford :(

NOW WHAT?

After my 5 runs I put the car up to take a peek at things. My ultimate goal was to run the line for my 150 shot... look what I found.

This is right next to the starter. Is this a normal spot to develope a crack in the bell? I looked hard for anything else next to the bolts for the transmission. All was good. Why there? I dont see how there is much stress there. The starter does not touch the bell at all.
Of all the things to begin failing, the bellhousing is not what I wanted. The TKO 600 commands less then .005 runout for indexing. Tons of labor!!
I guess I always thought the stock 606 bell might be weak behind the abuse I have delivered. I have had much to drink tonight, I dont know what my next move is. I am a little disgusted.

What type of transmission mount are you using? If it's solid, there's your answer.

I use a good polyurethane mount. And there is still enough give in the crossmember to absorb some of the shock of a launch.

Should be good to go with that mount.

I'd get a new bell and be done with it.... I was going to go with a tilton unit.. cheaper than the lakewood... but you can only run the small flywheel.

it'll also keep your feet attached to you in case the clutch decides to vacate the car.
