Well, it took Time Warner only 10 months to shut down my web page. I had moved and left all of the pics there, I did transfer everything to my new provider. I still have all of the pics. I just need to adjust the address to each pic.

As far as the bench seat, I can move it up pretty far with no problems. I am 6'1" and have it set all the way back but on occasion I let someone else drive they always move it up.
I will get a pic of the shifter setup and bench with the seat forward and in reverse or second gear to show clearance. Give me a day or so.

The first pic is as far as I could move the seat forward. I had less then 1/2 inch of space with the shifter in reverse. In 2nd gear or 4th it was basically the same. The other pic is all the way back.
Is your TKO-500 coming with a shifter offset? Mine is at least 2" to the left. I had to cut and modify the tunnel slightly to make it fit. I bet Keisler Eng. could provide you with a template if you needed it. They may even be able to sell you the precut sheetmetal to build the new hump. If you even need it. What are you going to do for a crossmember?

Thanks a lot... I'm not really into the whole center console look, and I really thought your installation was the cleanest looking one I've seen.
What did you do for the shifter handle and shifter boot? where did you get them? Did you go with the forward relocation shifter that mounts the shifter in the middle opening of the transmission?

I'm going with the iceman crossmember.

He says any transmission on his site, I fihured that included the TKO-600, I guess I should double check... I sent him an e-mail. I hope he does offer one, his design is just too simple and cheap not to look into.

oh and another thing...

Meat Drapes:

You have a big block right? Did this affect how far back the transmission sat in the tunnel? I always assumed that when swapping BBC and SBC that it would never entail having anything to do with moving the transmission. This is all relative to where the sifter sits in relation to the seat. That's why I am asking.

BTW... Those pictures are perfect for showing exactly what I needed to know, as well as assuring me of what I hoped for. Thanks again... This thread is incedible... thanks for your dedication and consistency through all this in helping out other people wanting to know more about this project and do one of their own.

When I originally installed the TKO-600 it was behind a 327 that I had. When I swapped over I changed nothing.
The only time I changed something that made a difference was my 9" rear. For whaterver reason my driveshaft after that install is now about 1/2 - 3/4" short.

You wont be able to use a middle shifter location.... at least I dont think you can. And mine has a pretty big offset to get it into the stock position.
I have more pics of this and will post them. Then you can decide how to fit yours.

I got the shifter handle and ball as part of a package deal from Keisler. I used the Keisler crossmember too with the honest charlys frame extension. I think the boot is a cheapy from ebay. The first one I had ripped.

My transmission is also modified from Keisler. The torque arm connection point was milled off. If you still have yours it may or may not affect the use of the crossmember.

In these pics you can see the shifter hump cut I made. I should have cut it back further about 3/4". Also the shifter offset which puts the shifter nearly in the stock location. Now if you have the shifter in one of the forward positions I dont know if you will be able to make it work unless you have some sort of wild looking shifter to clear the dash.

ok, so no icemember made for the TKO. Since I would still have to modify whichever one I buy, I might still get it since it is the simplest and cheapest I've seen.

Did you get that offset shifter from Keisler?
