The sender is built into the Tremec. There is only a plug and its part of the transmission too. I got the male end of the plug from Keisler for free. I just spliced it in.

Today is September the 7th 2007. I have had the transmission for nearly 2 years now. I have made a lot of passes with it at the track. And have made 21 passes with it behind a 454.
I have picked up a noise that I cant explain. I am pretty sure its the transmission. It only does it under higher RPM. I can do it / create it at will. Especially in 1st gear if I am accelerating hard and then dont shift, if I leave it in gear and engage the clutch the transmission will make a really odd noise. Almost like a grinding. Its as if its gears with rounded teeth. Its not a crunch but more like a rubbing. I dont think its synchros as I can shift up and down flawlessly.
Could it be the new rear end? Its got a detroit locker. Its driveline..no doubt.
One time I was able to do it in reverse at a stand still. Clutch engaged, as I pulled it into reverse it made the noise.
Comments anyone?

I dont think so. Does not sound like a bearing. And I have the runout nearly dead on.... its within the .005 spec for the Tremec.

Tuesday September 18.
Called Keisler today to ask about the 2nd - 3rd shift problem. I still seem to find that if I shift hard it will get stuck. Keisler has informed me that TREMEC had a 'problem' when they built the transmission with the internal rails and the 'dogs' that control all of this. ( poor parts procurement?)
So TREMEC is offering to replace the parts that cause the mis-shift. I am in the process of getting them the ID tag info off of the transmission so they can make a determination on how to proceed.

Keisler has also offered to go through my transmission at no cost to me if its determined that the noise I have been complainng about is internal and not something like a throwout bearing or pilot bearing.
All very interesting.

Keisler actually told me that TREMEC would pay for a few hours worth of labor. I have not yet put this in my post because I did not have full details.. but I will let you know as I learn more info.
