Balanced? Even with that counter weight its needs more balancing? McLeod didnt tell me to balance it.
Was I supposed to balance my nodular flywheel too? If not...why not?

Apparently the '84-'88 Vette bellhousing lines up just peachy with the G-Body linkage. I don't know how rare these bellhousings are though, so it may be a ghost hunt, I can't be any help there. But, since I'm here and I know you're looking for an 11" bellhousing...

That '84-'88 Vette bellhousing -# 14048867 is a 10 1/2" bell.

I understand the monetary reason, I just wish more 'American' companies had all their parts U.S.-made. It's a bummer, but it's also business :?

It is a "bummer", but stop and think about the name......"Mcleod", sounds Irish/Scottish to me. Yeah, I know, I'm a smart *ss. :D

Oh, and I don't think it was pointed out anywhere, but somebody posted a TCI part number earlier for a "flywheel", and I'm sure they figured out that it's a flexplate for an automatic, but just wanted to point it out for anybody that's skimming through this and thinking they found a good cheap flywheel. If it was already pointed out, just ignore me, most people do.....lol.

If you do a "search", I posted all the usable GM bell housing & fork P/N's a while back.

My beloved TKO is a mess

My TKO 600 has been evaluated and it is worse then I thought... much worse.
Keisler has tore it down and discovered a few items that need attention. Both clutch packs/synchros from 1-2 and 2-3 are in need of replacement. The 2-3 was completly worn out.
The whine I was describing was a bearing. It appears that there was a shift fork alignment part that was wore out. It has been explained to me that if you rest your hand on the shifter as you drive it puts unecessary wear on this part and it caused it to misalign a bearing as it shifts. The bearing was entering the race at an angle.
My reverse gear is in bad shape from missing 4th a few times and grinding the gear at 70+ mph. But that could be salvaged. A few other things were salvaged.

Keisler stated that the transmission could be put back together and it would still function and could conceivably last for years as is. But for $750 or so dollars I could have it brought back up to like new tolerances. So I am going to drop the $750 and get it done right.
It will be as good as when I bought it.

It's the infamous "Debug" error I'm sure. Did you keep trying to post when it gave you that error? The message still posts even though you get that error. Just click back and preview your message, you should see that it posted anyway.

That sucks it has all that wear :? Is that a general rule for all manuals? I don't have an armrest to put my arm on when I'm drivin'!! :p Plus I like havin' my hand there should I need to downshift in a hurry.
